Admin, please post this even though it didn’t get much attention. I want my thoughts on the public page. 27M I joined a new company 4 months ago and am earning around 90K per month. I stay in a shared PG for half the month since the office follows a hybrid work mode. Two months ago, when I traveled from home to the PG, I met a new guy who had just moved into my room. I usually keep my purse on a shelf that's easily accessible. On the first day, 100 rupees went missing. I thought I might have lost it during the train journey. In the same week, he asked me to transfer 1,000 rupees to him via GPay, promising to give me the cash in return. I agreed and made the transfer. He noticed the cash in my purse and seemed to be carefully observing it. The next day, he went to his hometown, and once again, money went missing from my purse. I began to feel suspicious about him. After the weekend, when he returned, I mentioned this to him. He nodded for a moment and then asked where I last took my purse and when I last saw the money. His nodding attitude made me even more suspicious, but I didn’t bring it up again. Last week, I informed him that I would be going home for the weekend. Once again, 500 rupees went missing from my purse. Now, I’m certain it must be him because I had seen the money in my purse the evening before, and the next day it was gone. When I confronted him, he claimed he had money and was an honest guy. He pulled out about 2,000 rupees from his own purse and asked how much I needed. He also mentioned that he has anxiety when looking at me. I’ve noticed several times that he keeps blinking when I enter the room. As I sat in Egmore railway station thinking about all this, another guy approached me and said he had absconded from his job at a hotel, which he claimed he was allergic to. He had visible allergic symptoms on his feet and asked me for 215 rupees to travel to his hometown. At first, I thought I shouldn’t help as it wasn’t my problem. But to get him to leave, I transferred the money via GPay. He promised to return it once he reached home. Now, all of this is running through my mind. I wonder if I’ve been too selfish, helping others despite earning a good salary and losing only a small percentage of it. I feel fortunate that everyone in my family is in good health, and I realize I need to evolve and not take these incidents too seriously. At the same time, advertisement from Lalitha Jewellery's bald men got played saying, "Kaasu yarukkum summa varala". Hmmm, thoughts are swirling.
